I have exactly the same question for a set of 24" rims that I got off a combine. Someone told me once that there was a special drill bit for removing spot welds. Anyone ever heard of it? Looking forward to answers for your question. Meanwhile, if you post it on the TOOL TALK forum, those guys often seem to have most of the answers for this type of thing.
