spot weld removal

need to move the tin centers on a wheel. The spot welds are an inch by 3/8 oval. I am not certain how to do this w/o sacrificing either the rim or the center. It's on that pair of 16 34's I widened. Any suggestions appreciated, ther are 8 spots times 2 wheels. Only thing I can figure is to drill the spots and patch holes. Thanks, a puzzled Mike
