Schrade went out of business and laid off everybody shortly after their 100 year anniversary 3-4 years ago. It was a big deal at the time. I used to repair some of their equipment (estate tractors) in Ellenville, New York. They were one of biggest employers in that area, other then the many NY prisons. A new company bought the Schrade name and most of the knives are made overseas. A few high-priced specialty knives are still made in the US, down south.
