Copper napthanate couple of oz, a cup of boiled linseed oil, shaved paraffin all melted into a gallon of mineral spirits. I used this stuff on pine and it was on a dock and it lasted over 15 years. You'd do just as well with boiled linseed oil mixed with mineral spirits. The mineral spirits are just a carrying agent to soak the linseed oil into the wood...then it all dries out. Copper napthanate is a spore killer...you'll have problem getting it. The shaved paraffin is tough to put into suspension as it wants to a liquid first but tends to solidify right as soon as it hits the mineral spirits.
