i run about 400 acres of hay in north texas, i have a ih 5088,135hp,ih 886, 90hp and 504 40 hp. i work a part time job in the local body shop 36 hrs. a week and do mobile sandblasting, and paint tractors. so when im in the field i need to get alot of plowing done. im really a large part time farmer, but next time ill go for 180-200 hp. to do more work faster because time is always in short supply. the big tractors will do alot more faster.and are cheaper per horsepower than the small ones. around here a 50 horsepower tractor will sell for more than a 130 hp in the same shape.
