I'm mentioning this for nostalgia and nothing else. Anybody under 30 probably won't remember these, but JCPenny (yea, the clothing store) used to have an automotive department. They used to have the JCPenny Lifetime Battery. Yes, it was warranted for life and at that time "lifetime" actually meant something, unlike today. I still remember seeing the commercials for these batteries advertised on TV. I'm pretty sure it was how they got you into their service department and then they sold you other things to really make money. My uncle had one in a '55 Chevy that would fail every 3-5 years and they would give him a new one. When it first came out in the 70s, the price for this battery was $49. That was a lot of money for a car battery back then, but he must have gotten 3-4 batteries before he died and the estate sold the car.
