Just about all the sites use aerial photos taken for the United States Department of Agriculture. For Indiana (where I live) all the major sites seem to use photos vintage 2004.
If you Google department of agriculture aerial maps (plus the name of your state) you should be able to find at least one site that has much more recent maps. For Indiana, Indiana University has a site that has 2008 aerial maps online
