From what I have learned from using them it all depends upon where the location is. My hometown area is very lowly populated and the satellite views on Google Earth are quite poor. Where I live now which is more highly populated the views are good.
Give "Flash Earth" a try as they offer views by Yahoo, NASA, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and others. Find the list on the upper left on the second page.
My favorite is Google Earth simply because of ease of use.
