That would be a good one for myth busters, although probably not enough interest. I would be an easy one to do, just need a kilowatt-hour meter. I used to have tank heaters on cars and try to keep them plugged in all night, now most everything has block heaters. We looked at a new Volkswagen diesel yesterday and the dealer would install a pump type heater for $300, said it would heat the interior of the car quicker after starting. when they burn so little fuel I suppose it doesn't generate a lot of heat.
