Splitting a Tractor - Any Tricks, Hints, Cautions, Suggestions, etc. ???

Ran across a guy that has offered me a "free" tractor (Cockshutt 40). Runs good with OK rubber and I might grab it but it needs a clutch. I've never split a tractor before but reading in manuals makes it sound probably a lot easier than it really is. Anybody out there have any hints, tricks, or cautions that you could pass on?
