If i was looking for a modern design tractor for cheap, that was a real fuel mizer, then it would HAVE to be a Deutz!! There's a huge amount of these sitting all summer around here, just running a pump for irrigation! The Deutz air cooled engines are second to none! I've owned 3 Deutz tractors in the last 20 years, and if kept serviced they are a very good tractor (o6 series) The problem with useing a truck motor for makeing electricity is, you really need a good govenor. You can cobble something up, but why? when there's so many tractors around, all ready designed for these jobs. The newer tractors run a PTO generator better than older ones for this very reason! (better govenors) Robert
