Sorry to to hear you lost your dog Belgian. About that Setter. They have been bred for thier beauty to the extent it is getting difficult to find a good using one. And man! What a price they demand. Anyhow,I can't emagine how my family could have survived without Ricky. He was mixed blood including a touch of pit, black with white on his forehead and two feet, waighing about 40LBS of which was 10LBS heart & 30LBS fight. Our farm was surounded by large farms that depended on mirgrant labor,so theft was a realalty, chickens, corn(yep you could take either into town and sell on the spot)scrap metal or anything that converted to cash or could be eat. We lost nothing, thanks to Ricky and my brother's 12guage. Cow you needed penned?Call Ricky. Want to rustle up a couple squirrels for supper?Don't bother calling, when he saw the 12guage he was off to the timber. If we were fur hunting and he treed a squirrel or chased a rabbit, scold once and not again that day. I could go on and on but I must give him credit for undouptly preventing all us from snake bite since we had Copperhead,Cotton mouth and two type Rattlers but he managed to find them before we did. Talk about taking a bullet for us,he would wade in in kill them and got bite himself a few times. Head would swell up and he would crawl under the house and barf up a few days and back on the job. Never crossed anyones mind to take him to the vet(I am ashamed).
