Hello dave2, Sounds to me that the mechanic is pretty sure of what he did. Yes it will use some oil durimg break-in. He replaced only the parts that he so fit, trust him. If it is going to persist burning oil, he will take care of it as he said. I'm betting you won't need anything else. Just run it, use it but don't abuse it. My recommendation is for you to use Mobil diesel oil. You won't be sorry. No Delon or Rotella T. I've drained both of those brands for lack of normal oil pressure with Mobil delvac oil with a 10# increase in oil presuure.
