You got a couple of things that need addressing...you want it to last and you want things easier and you want less expensive. Not gonna happen. One of those will go and the "easier" will. We have a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled. She vacuums and since she got the self propelled, the vacuum world stops right there. It MUST be a self propelled even if I have to fix it once a week. Had it for over a year and a piece of plastic inside broke...that's because she lifted it by the handle which is cable attached to this broken piece of plastic. I paid 8 bucks for that piece and installed it and she's good to go. I since taught her where the lifting point is. If you've never run a self propelled, you ain't lived. I even vacuum once in a while. Two fingers to push it forward and one finger to pull it back. About 200 and never look back. This is your "easier" part.
