I have a 94 CAT 3116 diesel in a Kodiak truck that ran fine before an accident 5 years ago. I have cleaned and checked the entire fuel system. I am getting fuel through the pump and filter and into the back of the head and then at the tank through the return line. With a clear bottle full of fuel gravity feeding the pump, if I start the engine on ether the bottle will empty but the truck will not run on its own. With the rocker cover removed there is a small metal tab under the rocker shaft bolt next to where the govenor shaft goes from the head to the pump, it points down toward the head. There is a small hole at the bottom that looks like it could be for a spring. Should there be anything (spring) attached to this bracket? If I remove the run solenoid I cannot make the fuel rack move from inside the solenoid hole. I have verified the solenoid is working properly by applying 12 volts. Another posting said the truck should run without the solenoid installed, not mine it still won't start. Back to the bracket, if there is a spring missing it might be what holds the rack normally open so it will run. I can feel movement inside the pump at the solenoid hole if I manually move the rack from under the rocker cover. Any ideas or schematics of the injector rack assembly would be greatly appreciated. I can take a picture of the bracket area I'm talking about if needed. Tom

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
