My neighbor has a 231 that he bought new 3-4 yrs ago that has always been shedded and it does that too.

The only thing we've found to help is to spray WD-40 into the ends of the throw out bearing pivot shaft and peck it with a hammer. Not hard- just enough to break up the rust on the bushings inside the bell housing.

That must be a fault on the 231 model because his did it from day one. His clutch has always been really hard to push down too.
