Having done one 6 to 12 volt conversion, I found myself asking why afterward. The reason I was aking why is becaused I realized there is no reason to convert only excuses. The 6 volt system was only abandoned by the auto industry because the 12 volt system costs less to install per unit. In short the bean counters made the call to go to 12 volts.
