Michael, I disagree with your advice--it sounds like a real good way to end up in jail yourself and maybe being sued for "injuries inflicted". These days you can get in real trouble for physically confronting someone. Especially if you are not SURE that you are right about who stole the various items.

My advice would be to tell the motorhome people to leave. If the mother asks why, tell her that things started disappearing after they arrived. Tell her it is just not working out letting them stay there. If she gets mad, so be it.
It might not be a bad idea to talk to an attorney about what the landlord-tenant law in your state says about evicting people, even if they are paying no rent. It might be a hassle if they refuse to leave, but if you follow the procedure, it would work better than if you do something that is prohibited by the law.
But putting your hands on the suspected young man would be very perilous, and might end up much more costly than replacing all the tools if the kid stole everything. Good luck!
