Years ago when I lived in Houston, local news ran a story about a pawn shop. Seems the shop had a problem with break ins. The "good ole' boys" who ran it came up with an interesting solution.
They built a glass cage in the front of the store and put two rattle snakes in it. They posted a sign above the cage that said they snakes were turned loose in the pawn shop after hours.
The owners said they hadn't had a single break in since they did that.
The reported asked the obvious question "How do you open up in the morning? The owner said "very carefully".
