I've seen more of the shift pattern decals located on the left side headlight bar than I've ever seen located on the gas tank, so that's where I put them. The original specs were drawn up before lights and electrical systems became factory installed options, so maybe the upgraded specs never made it into the records, or maybe it was never an official change. I really don't know, but I did grow up driving those Hs and Ms, and I spent a lot of time on them.
