If the oil has changed color or has water in it then its most likely time to change it. If however it still looks good and has the right viscosity then there is no need to change it. Hydraulic oil only gets bad when it has been contaminated with something. We had a small truck crane at work that had water in the oil we used it for years like that. Once i changed the oil and it was still white with water but not thick so we couldn't run it so it stayed that way unltil long after I left. Of course this is not the right way to do it but if it doesn't hurt anything then why bother. Walt
