Had Porcupine before- a stick to your ribs meal. Turn them over and slit belly, peel back to avoid quills in hand. Possum is also edible if hungry enough the first time you try it- Parboil, some cajun hot sauces helps, a little garlic when stewing it and some people get used to it- not my first choice but I can eat it. If things get worse economicly the old wild game recipes may be brought out- Detroit rumored to have some cat and dog dishes in a couple areas. RN.
