Well last night a opossum made a mistake. It was seen eating cat food well it found out what a 44mag can do. I used a shot shell on it and didn't even brake the wine bottle it was on when I shoot it. Got to love this 44mag I did have to remove my deer rounds but that was ok at least he will not take food from my cats any more

Only if your a buzzard and if yes then yep. No I do not eat them to me they are just over size rats that are to big for the barn cats to take out

My ex had an uncle (maybe still does) that traps etc. He ate everything, if it didn't taste good cooked (not very often he made something that wasn't good), he'd make the next one into a spicy jerky. Got to the point that I quit asking what it was made of (easier to handle then).

Had Porcupine before- a stick to your ribs meal. Turn them over and slit belly, peel back to avoid quills in hand. Possum is also edible if hungry enough the first time you try it- Parboil, some cajun hot sauces helps, a little garlic when stewing it and some people get used to it- not my first choice but I can eat it. If things get worse economicly the old wild game recipes may be brought out- Detroit rumored to have some cat and dog dishes in a couple areas. RN.

Hey Old,,Im a 44mag fan also.Whats your opinion on shootin those birdshot rounds out of a twisted pistol barrel?Something about that never sat right with me.Ive also been lookin at that new taurus Judge,shoots 45 long colt and 410 gauge shotshells,or slugs.

From what I see it does not seem to hurt the barrels any. I would not shot them only. I do use this 44mag I have as a back up gun for deer hunting and last year I took a 10 point buck with it at around 60 yards. I load my own ammo for my gun and this gun is an odd ball. Serial number is FS0002 yep 2nd gun in production

I haven't heard of any cat or dog recipes, but some people around here do eat muskrat. A couple of places specialize in it. Never tried it myself.

Where it was I had to use something that wasn't going to blow every thing around it apart so the 44mag with a shot gun type shell worked very well. Killed what it had to but did not hurt things around it

When I was in first grade, neighbor had a horse that hated kids. If he saw me crossing the pasture (short cut to school) he'd come running, squealing, with his teeth bared and I'd beat it for the fence. Last day of school, I was coming home and the horse was laying out in the middle, on his side, with his legs sticking out kinda funny. Dead as a doorknob. I slipped up with a piece of a tree limb, vengence in mind. I whopped him hard in the ribs, and three possums ran right out of his butt. They'd been in there having a feast.

I think of that EVERY time I hear of anyone eating possum.
