We should be bearing down on finishing harvest not starting it! This is going to be a year to forget. Latest planting in my life. Cool all summer and horrible wet. Still a nice crop is waiting in the field but it wont mature. I only know of one other person within a few miles who has picked any corn. I talked with the elevator today and they have had LESS than 10,000 bu delivered so far all year, total! Alot of days they will get over 100,000. Our bin dryers are all on LP gas and luckily it is just exactly half the price it was last year. Also the cost of fertilizer and chemicals have dropped like a rock so it looks like next year it will take alot less money to farm. Yep, today was mostly red but the 4010 was there earning its keep on the auger. Hooked onto the wagon is a 1026 hydro. Running it around to stretch it legs a little while it waits to be restored.
