Hi Ken, Well that should teach me type when I'm tired. I was reading another post that stated his use would be very little, so I was suggesting a low cost method of repair. I did not complete my thoughts on how to harden the pipe bushings or the pins. You can use common pipe for bushings by running the bushing thru a charcoal bed adding carbon to the surface, thus making the surface harder, then quenching. Them same would apply to the pins.

I do agree that if pins and bushing can be bought at the approx prices you stated, then that would be a great deal and a better choice but the prices I have found were not in that price range, more like $70 for a pin and two bushings. I never checked the sources you mentioned but will.
