Anybody familiar with these? Scalewatcher http://www.scalewatcher.us/NARESStarenlarged.html I have had nothing but bad luck with water softeners. I've lost the resin bed in two of them, and I swore, "No More!". But this thing has no resin bed or salt, and it seems pretty foolproof -- if it works. We've got a hot tub and I'm trying to find a way to soften the water so I don't have to treat the water in the hot tub so much.
Anybody got one? Are they any good? They actually claim that they will remove scale already present in your plumbing. I'm skeptical. (But then if you know me, I'm Mr. Skeptic).
