I don't think you have to change anything for parts,,, but I could be wrong,, however, this is what I did.

Switch the Battery Cables.
Swap the wires on the Coil terminals.
To correct the residual magnetism in your generator, This will get charging started in the right direction,
Find your voltage regulator,
Use a jumper wire, hold one end on A1 terminal and BRIEFLY touch the other end to the F1 terminal 2 or 3 times,
It will spark, but it won't hurt you,
check any fuses and replace if any have blown,
Now your good to go.
