Cut in tire

I have a cut in one of my tractor tires that is about 3/4 of an inch long, my tire is not flat yet. I can see the inner tube showing. Does anyone know of an easy way to patch the hole with something from the outside ? I know you can break the tire down and put a boot on the inside, but was hoping for an easy solution (probably wishful thinking).
