My wife bought me a nice little pocket knife called "little wrangler" when we started dating in 1988. Three handy little blades; I still have it and love it but...
At about 1989, I started drinking "good" beer from bottles, and she bought me a Wengner Swiss Army knife because it had a with bottle opener. I carried that Wengner for about 11 years until the pean on one of the hinge / rivets went and it fell apart. I still have that and one and may try to fix it someday.
That was about 9 years ago, and I've been through 2 Vitronix Swiss Army knives (worn out, not lost) and am on an other Wegner that I don't think will last that much longer.
I'm afraid they don't make anything like they used to ... even back to just the late 1980s.
