Favorite pocket knife

Any of you guys got a good old dependable knife you've had awhile, or a favorite brand? Just wondering what everybody else was carrying out there.

Been carrying a Case knife since about1972. Got one swiped in school (imagine that today). And lost its replacement. Bought one just like each of them on ebay. Also collected about 10 more case knives. I think they're great. My little indulgences.

Schrade "Nighthawk SP1".

I've had it for a long time, it's small (1.7" blade, 2.6" closed) and it's light (.4 oz). I need a new one, the blade is starting to curve the wrong way I've sharpened so much.

I don't get folks that carry big pocket knives. The bulk and the weight would drive me nuts. I think a lot of it has to do with show... Occasionally I wish I had a bit more leverage on my little knife but the blade length is fine.

Used to carry American made old timers, not anymore though. New ones just don't keep an edge.

I prefer Swiss army now.

I carried the same Case electricians knife for 33 years. Finally got worn loose and wood grips almost gone, so I retired it. Now I carry a
Swiss Army knife. Not as good as my old Case, but it will do for now.

Still carry everyday a Queens I got in 1960. It goes with me everywhere. When I went to the airport they told me it was not welcome there so I turned around & left.Where my knife is not welcome, I am not either.

Just bought a Vitronox, Swiss Army knife the other day.

My best pocket knife is an older, folding Gerber, before they started making them in China.

I also have a hunting knife made by Cutco. It's about the sharpest knife in the sheath knife size I have ever had.

I have carried a Victronix swiss army knife for about 30 years. Same knife still going strong.
I wore the swiss emblem off of the hande though.

I've got one of those folding utility knives that I clip on the outside of my pocket. When the blade gets dull, I simply turn it around or toss it and grab a new one.

Always have a nice sharp edge and I almost always have it handy. I even bring it to birthday parties for my neices/nephews because someone is always asking for a knife to take the toys out of the packaging....

My wife bought me a nice little pocket knife called "little wrangler" when we started dating in 1988. Three handy little blades; I still have it and love it but...

At about 1989, I started drinking "good" beer from bottles, and she bought me a Wengner Swiss Army knife because it had a with bottle opener. I carried that Wengner for about 11 years until the pean on one of the hinge / rivets went and it fell apart. I still have that and one and may try to fix it someday.

That was about 9 years ago, and I've been through 2 Vitronix Swiss Army knives (worn out, not lost) and am on an other Wegner that I don't think will last that much longer.

I'm afraid they don't make anything like they used to ... even back to just the late 1980s.

Schrade 3-1/2" three bladed Stockman. I think Schrade sold out to someone in the Far East so they are no longer made in the good ol" US of A.

Back about '61 or '62 when I was in the peace time army, I happened to be in NYC for a few weekends. Found a small 2 blade Case knife in a taxicab (van style) on the floor. Still have it and carry it every day. Looked it up at CASE and sure enough they still make it today! Sells for over 50 bucks. Kinda makes me feel like I should'nt be carrying it around. Supplemented it with a Leatherman some 20 years ago. Airports, big museums, large meeting halls, etc sure are fun! I get caught every time.

Uncle Henry(Schrade) LB5 lockblade. Carried since 1992. Starting to have some trouble with the lock though. Luckily I have another one still in the box. Kinda hard to sharpen but holds an edge forever.

For everyday use I carry an Imperial brand Barlow style of knife. They are cheap so I can abuse them when needed without guilt. The Imperial brand seems to hold a pretty good edge but is also just soft enough that it sharpens easily.

The plating on the handle is wearing through on the one I am currently carrying so I haven't abused it too badly.

I have a Case and an Old Timer that I carry when I know that I won't be doing any rough work with them. Sort of alternate between the two. Both gifts.

Carry a Gerber lock blade clip. 1/2 serrated- holds an edge as well as any of the dozens of knives I've gone through in nearly 20 years of Fire Service. Although, my Buck in it's pouch on my bunker gear has got me out of a few sticky situations.

Victorinox swiss army knife "executive" model Just the right size to keep in the pocket for work. For when I'm dressed up I have a small two blade kabar that is about 2 3/4 inches long and about 3/8 by 1/2 inches thick. I have about 6 or 8 pocket knives when they get dull the go into a can when they are all dull I sit down and sharpen them all. That is probably the longest time I spend in front of the tv at one sitting.

old timer, i've sharpened mine about 40 times, pretty much nothing left to it now.

The wenger swiss army knife is a good knife to have outdoors

Any thing that cuts, have a habit of leaving them on the tractor tyre and driving off. There is a Swiss army knife in the paddock with the wheat, don't suppose it will find its way into a bale of hay.

I carry an old buck folding knife with a hard rubber handle. I have had it at least 10 years, abused the crap out of it and it still is a good knife. Holds a good edge too.

I carry three; a small Case lock-back, like a Sodbuster, an Uncle Henry and a cheap checkout knife/file type. The Case I found on a pheasant cleaning station in Iowa. I found it one night and it was still there in the morning, covered with frost. I use it most often. I've carried the Uncle Henry for about 15 years--and if I lose any, I have a Shrade Improved Muskrat in my drawer.

I carry a 3" Gerber folding lock blade. It was $15. I would like to have a small USA made one if I can find it. (I dont know if my small Gerber is USA made)

Kershaw, lifetime guarantee (on what I don't know!) and made in the USA. I beleive snap-on sells them so you can warranty them there. Extremely sharp when new and sharpens easily.

A Cammilus utility knife - all metal, a US government issue knife I was given 20 years ago.

I carry a two blade Taylor Eyewitness which I have managed to keep for over 20 years. My sister gave it to me. I never lend it and it's either in my hand or in my pouch.

Been carrying a Craftsman 100th anniversary three blade stockmans since then when the War Dept. got it for me for Christmas And how many years has that been . I think Case made them . Good knife and will hold and edge sharp enough to shave with.
.

Carried a Buck with me back in the steel mill and roofing mill days; came in real handy several times on the job.

Retired it after leaving manufacturing jobs.

Nancy has it now in her horse trailer.

A good knife.

USA made only lock backs-had to see which I had in my pocket a Case lock back 2 inch blade with the plastic handles skinned several deer with it and etc. Used bigger lock back belt carry on the job.

Yup, that knife is part of my gear when I go riding. Since I do trail riding, I asked James for a "serious" knife and he gave me that Buck. It"ll do anything I need to do with a knife and then some.

The best knife I have is my grandfathers 2 blade Barlow. For general use, I have a 4" Buck I"ve had for 32 years.

My dad used to say when asked if he had his knife; "I got my pants on don"t I". I started carrying cheap knives at the age of 8 or 9. As I aged I started carrying a good knife, typically a case brand. Now at age 62 when asked if I had my knife, I answer "I got my pants on don"t I?".

A Sears knife from back when they were all made in the USA and had a lifetime warranty. My grandfather bought it for me once I'd done the Boy Scouts training to carry a knife at camp.

My Dad used to refer to my Mom as the "War Department" sometimes. I hadn't thought of that for many years. Thanks for the little memory of my beloved Dad--he has been gone for 15 years and I still think of him many times a day. Hal

Well the one and only Pocket knife I have is one I got as a reward for buying some things from Duluth Trading. It is well made and holds an edge and is user freindly .It does not have a country of origin ,but is only stamped Duluth. I bet it came from some other country as Duluths products are mostly imported.A pocket knife only lasts me less than a year but this one is hanging in there headed for two years.

Got a "Tree Brand", was My dads favorite Brand, I have had this one for probably 20 Years..Or more! Larry KF4LKU

There is a guy who lives down the road from me who makes very nice knifes. His last name is Bose and every one who has one around these parts will not let go of it for all the tea in China. Grandpa always carried a Case.

I've got a bad habit of losing knives and breaking watches, so I don't go for high priced models.

I did have this Stanley knife that looked just a traditional razor knife but had a 3" stainless steel locking blade built into it. I really liked that one. I lost it in the snow last winter unrolling round bales though. I haven't been able to find it for sale anymore.
