I believe that has the same pump drive gear box as the 1737, fairly common for the splines to wear out in the gear box shaft that drives the attached hyd pump. Remove the pump from the gear box to check. Had that fail several times on our 1740 (1737 with a diesel engine) skid loader. Those gear box shafts are getting very hard to find, fortunatly a good machine shop can make one fairly cheaply.
