Bob, If you havn't found it all ready you should be reading the N-Board. See link below. How big a garden do you want? For a small one, a good used (or new) Troy built tiller would be as cost effective as getting a tiller for the 8N.
If you are thinking half acre or more, than why not get a plow and do what the Ford N series was designed to do best, PLOW! Get a double bottom (12" or 14") NOT a single. The single will cause you to have to drive with the right wheels up on top of the previous furrow. With a double, it cuts wide enough that you can drive with the wheels in the open furrow - a lot easier! NOW, if you are handy, you could do something like buy a Tory, or other brand, tiller along with one of the Carry All's (so you have the 3pt hitch frame) that TSC and others sell. With some angle iron, etc. you could fix the tiller to the carry all. Then let the 8N "fight" with the tiller. You would still have to run the 8N in low gear at idle so as not to pull the tiller over the ground too fast.
