I can't say what it's like down there today, but yesterday (Thursday) it was dry. It rained about noon, but the ground down there is so dry that it never got muddy or even stuck to your shoes. Plowing was a bit tough in the corn fields due to the lack of moisture. While in the fields I saw some cracks in the dirt about 1/2" wide.
Being on an air base there is a LOT of asphalt and concrete, you don't need to be IN the field to see whats going on.
