Always wandered this, never figured it out my self or asked any one so I figure this is as good a place as any. I got home late from work and had to spray tobacco before checking cows this morning so it was hotter than most days when I see them. Why is it in the summer cows can have 10 acres of grass and two acres of shade but they all pile up in one 40' circle in the shade? They were bunched up so tight I could hardly count them all, didn't even try to count calves. I could see this if there was only one wet muddy spot but they were all just piled up under one tree, some standing right on top of some lay'n down. Rest were hudled up so tight you could not have slid paper between them. Looks like it would be cooler on them to have some air between them.
