Would it be a good precaution to double up the lip seals (stack 2 together) on my Allis Chalmers 7000's input shaft. I have put 2 new seals in it in the last 2 years and they have all leaked right after replacement. I figured if I put 2 in the tractor, I would have less of a chance of it leaking. The shaft has no grooving, just shiny spots where the original seal ran, but no grooving. There is enough depth to put in 2 lip seals.
