Surface area. Those rears have a lot of surface area for that 15 psi. How many 100's of square inches are just waiting to slam you?

Poor Farmer's tire patch can work, if your time doesn't count. And I do a lot of things where my time doesn't count. :)

But this 'rim patch' is cosmetic, and is dangerous because paint will hide the flaw. Welding on a rim can weaken them as well, but at least others can see what you have done.
