A few years ago, on the way to a neighbor's place, I came up on a semi sitting half way across an intersection with one front wheel pointing the wrong direction. The tie rod had dropped off of that one wheel. I told him to get in with me, and we went to the neighbor's house to get a couple of jacks and some blocks.
I used one jack to get the errant wheel off the ground to get it turned straight again, then I used the other jack to push the tie rod end back over the ball. A little baling wire held the tie rod up to the ball so he could get it home. I told him to drive slow in case it drops out again.
A week later at the elevator I saw him hauling corn in with that truck with the wire still holding the tie rod up. He must have had a guardian angel riding with him. Jim

If your tractor is going to be stored for any length of time, a few precautionary measures are helpful in preserving various parts, also in avoiding future difficulty. Store tractor under cover. If impossible to place tractor under cover, be sure to cover air stack and exhaust pipe. Drain radiator and engine block. To avoid gum content collections, drain both fuel tanks and carburetor. Leave radiator and fuel caps slightly loose to protect gaskets. Block tractor up to remove weight from tires and to keep tires from contact with moist floor.
