My biggest problem lending things was my mouth..I finally learned to keep my mouth shut and not always be offering something to be loaned out. Some years back I lent my relatively new circular saw, about a year later I went to get it in the garage and it wasn't there..AND I couldn't remember who I lent it too. He mentioned something about a saw for the job but didn't remember who he borrowed it from...We had a good laugh but it was a good lesson..after that when somebody wanted something ..I didn't have one. or I already lent it or it was broke, or I sold it or the tires were bad. I have lent my hay rake and a hopper wagon to a neighbour who bales for me sometimes..he is a quality farmer and a quality guy, the stuff comes back in as good condition and it is never abused. MY mother had a motto "Never a borrower or a Lender be"
