Best storage results are achieved when the lead-acid battery is stored in a cold, dry area. Remember Chemistry 101? Chemical reactions speed up when warmed and slow down when cooled. The battery is nothing more than a chemical reaction waiting to happen when a connection is made between the + & - terminals. Keep the battery clean & dry to minimize surface discharge. I like to charge the battery with a trickle charger about every month or so just to keep it fully charged.
