You've gotten some good info; however, as Ken says, the manufacturer's design has to be considered. Some older tractors rely a lot on "splash" for lubrication (even the rods) and there is not a need for much pressure; only enuf to move the oil around to the critical points. Believe it or not, 15 PSI is more than is called for in some cases. My Allis-Chalmers WD manual states that normal oil pressure is 12 PSI at operating temperature and RPM. Many Allis engines with lots of hours barely register oil pressure but still "keep on keepin' on".
