When something goes wrong, the degree of loyalty between Masons is one of the strongest bonds I've ever observed. Sometimes it's a good thing.Other times I've seen some very obvious and public "bad stuff" get "swept under the rug". That otherwise should have been dealt with.
There can be favors to assist friends/brothers and favors to impede those who had the misfortune to raise a mason's ire.
I've seen people hired and promoted due to membership. And observed better people passed over.
It's just a good idea to stay out of their way.
