I think you guys are missing the point. I think rationed healthcare will speed up the attrition rate of us seniors and therefore keep social security solvent beyond 2037. There will be some bureaucrat deciding who gets care, who doesn't and who long we will have to wait before being allowed to receive whatever care it is we neeed. They will have a big spreadsheet and if enough seniors have passed in the period one of us needs care, we may stand a better chance of getting it...if the senior death rate is low, forget healthcare until the numbers get back where the government acturaies want them. Some 30 year old Harvard lawyer will be made a czar and be given the power of life and death over the populace.
That said, I think that those congressmen who cannot figure some foreign junket during the August recess will get more than an earfull from their constituents and this whole healthcare mess will be placed on the shelf next to Hilary's 1993 plan...I hope so anyway.
