Squirrel = No Battery / Now what?

Yesterday I went to start my Ford 3000 to plow
snow. Turned the key, nothing, not even a
click. Opened the hood to attach junper cables
and found a fried red squirrel and an exploded
battery. Looks like the critter chewed on the
positive battery cable where it was close to the
battery mount and created a direct short that blew
the battery. My question is how can I nutralixe
the battery acid that must have run down the side
of the engine? The temperature here is only up in
the twenties on warm days and I have no acces to
any heated garage where the tractor is. Darn
critters. Thanks for any help.
