The poster said the high temps were only in the 20s; water freezes at 32 degrees F. I inferred Larry believed the baking soda slurry would freeze. The baking soda will lower the freezing point of the water some, but I don't know how much. Adding a little alcohol to the mixture would be safer than ethylene glycol antifreeze. I would suggest treating with baking soda now. If some is left, clean the area when the temps get above freezing long enough to clean the box well.
