Yes, if not controlled and allowed to take over a pasture the quality of the field is compromised. However, I feel better having planted them rather than the various firs and pines which are being devastated by the bark beetle and the nemotoid within its gut, which will kill a full grown tree. I've had problems with bagworms this year but have them under control and I like the cedars...many different colors and shapes. Dense trees, make good wind breaks and acts like a privacy fence.
