My previous question about self installed valve guides brought a mix of replies and a further question about the need to ream guides to size. I've installed lots of bronze valve guides and never needed to ream one to proper size. If I purchase a complete valve job kit valves, springs, guides etc. won't the guides be sized to match the valves? If I give the machine shop a clean head with new guides and valves shouldn't they charge less for a grind job? It also allows me to look at their work when I assemble the springs and keepers.
