Hot wire for trailer hookup

I didnt know where else to go with this question .I know you guys are sharp and Iam sure will know the answer. I have a 93 Ford 350 7.3 I bought a old coachman trailer which has a battery pack .They say in the manual to run a wire from your alternator to the hot wire on the 7 prong plug to keep the trailer battery charged. My alternator has a plug with 3 wires and one large wire which one would I hook up to ? Or could I hook up to one of the positive posts on one of the batterys?
