You should try using an Earth Box. Our daughter doesn't have room for a garden so she uses these for raising her squash, here's a pic of one of her zukes. She also has yellow squash in the same box.
My zuchinni vines look healthy, but the squash rot before they mature. I thought too much rain may have been the problem, but its dry now. The cucumbers are ok. Hal PS: She has tomatoes in them too.
