Had a couple of zuchinni and yellow squash plants in the garden, they have always done well. The plants have died almost overnight, like somebody poured gas on them.Everthing else, tomatoes, cukes, peppers corn are fine.My dad said a fox could have ------ on them and killed them, any one else seen this?

Stink bugs get around the stalk at the ground. they kill them fast.Malethon will help keep them off. sounds like it is to late. I doubt the fox.

Ype squash bugs that look like shield shaped stink bugs. Sevin works to ward them off, but once they get them..well time to plant more and use the sevin.

Check the stem down close to the ground for borers. This is a grub that will hollow the stem out and cut off plants life line. They will be there in plant before you even know it has a problem. Sevin ahead of the game will usually get them in early stage before they do damage to kill the plant.

Yep my Zucs are doing the same thing as is my cucumbers been a bad year for the garden and things that should be doing well just plain are not doing well

squash vine borer more than likely. they are already in the vine by the time they wilt over and die.

You should try using an Earth Box. Our daughter doesn't have room for a garden so she uses these for raising her squash, here's a pic of one of her
zukes. She also has yellow squash in the same box.

My zuchinni vines look healthy, but the squash rot before they mature. I thought too much rain may have been the problem, but its dry now. The cucumbers are ok. Hal
PS: She has tomatoes in them too.
