If you have a friend at a good parts house, they can cross the ball joint for taper and diameter, maybe not thread. cut threaded shank off both old and new joints and weld old shank on new joint. protect the joint from heat with wet rags or heat block. We use to have a tapered reamer to modify steering arms on ag equipment to accept truck joints. In most cases it would not be worth the tooling cost to do this.
